Stove outlet & connector

The top outlet is 114 mm (4.49 in). Match the connector and any adapter to this exact outlet and the chosen chimney system. A nominal 115 mm label alone does not establish compatibility.

Before ordering: Confirm the measured connection and a manufacturer-approved adapter.

02 / MAKE ROOM

The stove is only part of the footprint.

Keep combustible walls, benches, and other materials outside these distances. Plan the chimney and floor protection with your installer.

FINISHED ROOM HEIGHT87.1 in minimum

34.3 in stove + 52.8 in overhead clearance

Use the unrounded manual dimensions to calculate the minimum: 2,210 mm, rounded up to 87.1 in.

Why this differs from the drawing

The manual’s installation text requires 1,340 mm above COZY 18 stoves. The SW 18 is 870 mm tall. Its model table and drawing also print a smaller 2,100 mm room height. This planner uses the larger requirement. Have the installer resolve the document discrepancy with Cozy before installation.

The chimney has separate clearance and penetration requirements. Explore the component guide and matching covers in the chimney section.

Measurement and model notes

Dimensions above use the current manual’s SW 18 table. The individual drawing gives 21.7 × 25.6 × 34.3 in when rounded to one decimal place. The original CAD handle projects approximately 0.6 in farther forward than the drawing: the model retains that geometry, with an overall depth of about 26.2 in. Check the delivered stove before final fitting.

The exact SW 18 row specifies 180 kg (397 lb) of stones; the manual’s general 18-family summary lists a smaller range. The model’s irregular stones are illustrative and do not specify the count or loading arrangement. The original 80 CAD parts retain their shapes, including 29 cage bars.

HEAT, AIR & EVERYDAY USE

Leave room to live with it.

01 / UNDERFOOT

Support and protect.

Allow for 606 lb of stove and nominal stones before adding a chimney or cover. Tile alone does not protect heat-sensitive adhesive or waterproofing. Specify the required heat and ember protection for the floor and loading area.

02 / FRESH AIR

Give the fire air.

The manual places fresh air above the stove and a remote outlet near the ceiling for drying. Its minimum ventilation opening is 15.9 sq in of free area. Grille face area is not the same as free area.

03 / ACCESS

Make upkeep easy.

Keep the firebox door, ash drawer, cleaning hatch and chimney accessible. Leave the 19.7 in front clearance free of combustible material. Sweep the chimney and connecting pipes regularly and inspect stones for deterioration.

04 / COMPLETE THE INSTALLATION

Plan the whole system.

01

The stove

Choose SW 18 / COZYSW18 for in-sauna loading. The TW version is a different product. The black-steel finish matches the US listing.

02

Stones & protection

Allow for a 397 lb stone load and a 606 lb combined stove-and-stone weight. Confirm floor capacity and the required heat and ember protection.

03

Chimney & air

Top flue connection, 4.49 in outlet, 12 Pa draft. Use a compatible engineered chimney system, installed by a specialist. This stove cannot share a flue.

Stones, a complete chimney, and floor or wall protection are separate from the heater-only listing. Accessory availability and current pricing are shown by Sauna Marketplace.

05 / BEFORE YOU BUY

Good questions, direct answers.

Are stones and a chimney included?

This is heater-only SKU COZYSW18. Stones, a complete chimney system, and required floor or wall protection are separate. The stone appearance in the 3D model illustrates a loaded stove.

Will it work in my sauna?

Check the adjusted room volume, not just floor area: 318–636 cu ft. Glass, tile, brick, and other uninsulated surfaces increase the effective volume. Also allow at least 87.1 in of finished room height and the stated combustible clearances.

Can I load it from outside the sauna?

This SW 18 loads inside the sauna. The SW 18 TW is a separate through-wall model with different geometry and installation requirements.

How much space should I leave around it?

Leave at least 9.1 in on each side and behind, 19.7 in in front, and 52.8 in above the stove to combustible surfaces. These values are rounded up from the manual. Clearances apply to benches as well as walls.

Is a tile floor enough protection?

Not automatically. Tile adhesive and waterproofing layers can be damaged by radiant heat. The manual requires protective bedding or equivalent heat protection for a tiled floor, and protection for combustible floors and the loading area.

What stones should I buy?

Use stones intended for sauna stoves and follow the manual supplied with your stove. The hosted manual specifies about 3–6 in stones; the accessory page describes a smaller grade. Confirm the delivered stone grade before ordering. Do not tightly pack the stones or obstruct airflow.

Does the European certificate approve a US installation?

No. BImSchV is emissions evidence, not a UL, ETL, or CSA safety listing. Have a qualified installer confirm local solid-fuel requirements and the chimney design before purchase.
