Before you install
- Hang it with at least 3.94 in below the heater, then keep the side and front combustible clearances published for the output you buy.
- Keep 47.25 in from the top of the stones to the ceiling. The manual sets a 75 in minimum room height and recommends 79 to 91 in.
- A bench or floor recess installation uses the HUUM embedding flange and leaves at least 14.75 in of the heater above the finished surface.
- U.S. packages are sized for a 240 V supply. At 208 V the same heater delivers less output, so this calculator switches to the manual’s separate 208 V output and room-volume table.
- UKU 4.2 puts the safety sensor directly above the heating-element stone basket and adds a recommended temperature/humidity sensor high on the opposite wall. Use Advanced placement & wiring in the planner before closing the walls.
- Mount the UKU main module and a plastic-case control panel outside the hot room. A glass-case panel may go inside, away from the heater, with its top edge no higher than 40 in and at least 20 in from any exhaust. Run the cables before paneling.
- Wash and place approved 2 to 4 inch stones by hand, with larger stones at the bottom and sides. Keep airflow through the basket and cover the outer faces so the elements are not visible. On DROP 7 and DROP 9, leave the area under the retainer stone-free exactly as the manual diagram shows.

Can I use HUUM DROP on 208 V service?
Yes, with lower output and different room ranges. The U.S. manual lists DROP 4 at 3.4 kW for 89-177 cu ft, DROP 6 at 4.5 kW for 142-248 cu ft, DROP 7 at 5.6 kW for 177-301 cu ft, and DROP 9 at 6.75 kW for 212-354 cu ft. Select 208 V in the calculator before choosing a size.
