Best fit

  • 15.9-23.5 kW Harvia heater family for 212-1059 cu ft adjusted hot rooms.
  • Floor-standing layouts where the heater footprint, front clearance, and bench approach are planned before ordering.
  • 265-573 lbs stone capacity with chimney, hearth, heat-shield, and combustion-air planning handled before ordering.
  • Rooms that can meet the 75"-81" minimum finished ceiling check for the selected size row.
  • Floor structure, non-combustible base, stove guard rail, chimney route, and roof lead-through should be resolved with the full room layout.

Designer checks

  • Size the room by adjusted volume, including the 3.94 cu ft per sq ft (1.2 m3 per 1 m2) for glass, stone, tile, brick, concrete, or similar cold surfaces rule where it applies.
  • Validate side/back clearance 7.87", front clearance 19.7"-27.6", and bench setback before finalizing benches.
  • Check the 75"-81" minimum finished ceiling against the room height.
  • Carry chimney kit/extensions/damper, lead-through, hearth protection, heat shields, ash handling, and local fire-code review into the material schedule.

Computed from body height, floor clearance, top clearance, and the manual minimum room height.

Maximum room height

Not listed for these sizes

Verify with the selected manual when designing unusually tall rooms.

Fuel / standard

Wood

Flue class / diameter

T600; 115 mm connection; 110 mm min pipe ID

Connection locations: Verify.

WHP chimney clearance

100 mm insulated chimney to combustibles; 500 mm single-wall pipe to walls (stainless; 375 mm with the black WHP1500M connector)

The insulated chimney runs 220 mm outside diameter over the 115 mm smoke pipe. Keep at least 430 mm of insulated chimney visible in the room. Lead-through insulation must be class A or long-term rated at 750 C or more (Harvia ZSH-200 in the kit).

WHP chimney scope

Vertical roof-pass installs only; standalone outdoor sauna buildings per Harvia support (2026)

For an indoor or residential build, the installer specifies a listed North American chimney path (e.g. UL 103 HT Class A via a 115 mm to 6" adapter) with AHJ sign-off instead of the WHP kit. Harvia 115 mm smoke pipes and WHP chimneys fit all Harvia wood-heated sauna stoves except the Harvia 50, plus the Harvia 10 iron stove.

WHP chimney limits

5 m max chimney elements; 2 m max freestanding element; 3 m max indoor lateral-support spacing

  • Go-to wood stove family for SaunaDesignPro wood-burning sauna plans
  • T600 chimney required; Harvia manuals list 115 mm connection opening and 110 mm minimum flue inner diameter
  • Use Harvia WHP steel chimney kit/extensions/damper or an AHJ-approved equivalent specified by the installer
  • Harvia WHP steel chimney installs vertically through the roof only, and Harvia support (2026) specifies it for standalone outdoor sauna buildings - indoor or residential builds need an installer-specified listed chimney path (e.g. UL 103 HT Class A)
  • Harvia WHP steel chimney manual lists 100 mm minimum clearance from combustibles to the insulated outer casing; the non-insulated connecting pipe needs 500 mm (stainless WHP1500) or 375 mm (black WHP1500M), with at least 430 mm of insulated chimney left visible
  • Align the roof and ceiling lead-through holes to the actual top flue collar, not the center of the rectangular stove footprint
  • Harvia Legend smoke-pipe drawing places the Legend 150 top connection center 180±5 mm from the back edge
  • Non-combustible base, heat shields, roof/ceiling lead-through, combustion air, and local fire-code review required
  • Safety distances apply only with stones placed per the Harvia manual
  • Legend 150 standard safety drawing: 200 mm combustible side clearance, 250 mm rear clearance, 500 mm front clearance, and 1000 mm top clearance.
  • Legend 150 SL uses the through-wall firebox extension; coordinate non-combustible opening details and adjacent-room clearances.
  • SL feeds through the wall: concrete/brick opening min 220 mm wide, min 390 mm high from the floor, wall max 150 mm thick (manual 292 Fig 13). The 200 mm extension leaves ~50 mm of door proud of the thickest allowed wall.
