EOS Invisio Midi Concealed Under-Bench Sauna Heater

EOS Invisio Midi is a purpose-built concealed heater for indoor Finnish saunas. The 45.7 in-wide body sits below a removable bench behind a site-built dividing wall and hot-air shaft, while the supplied protective grille, special wall sensor, ventilation openings, service path, and infusion plumbing remain part of the safety assembly. SaunaDesignPro models the complete system—not an exposed floor heater hidden cosmetically by a bench.

EOS Invisio Midi is a 6, 9, or 12 kW North American concealed heater for roughly 214-634 cu ft rooms. Every size uses the same 1160 × 380 mm body, about 44-45 lb of stones, a 1240 mm mandatory grille, 1900 mm minimum room height, a removable under-bench assembly, and a compatible EOS Touch 3 or EmoTec D control/power package.

Quick answers

Can EOS Invisio Midi be installed under any sauna bench?

No. It needs the EOS manual-defined dividing wall and hot-air shaft, a removable bench/service route, the supplied 1240 mm protective grille, exact air paths, a noncombustible floor, and the special sensor location. A normal bench simply placed over a floor heater is not compliant.

Which Invisio Midi sizes are available in North America?

The North American line has 6.0, 9.0, and 12.0 kW bodies in stainless steel or anthracite. The 6 and 9 kW sizes have 208V 3PH and 240V 2-line item numbers; 12 kW is 208V 3PH only.

How much room does the concealed assembly need?

The heater is 1160 × 380 mm and adjusts to 710 or 770 mm installed height. Plan the supplied 1240 × 100 mm grille, at least 40 mm beyond each heater end, a 45 mm rear spacer, 105 mm shaft offset, and more than 30/60 mm upper/lower air paths.

Where does the sensor go?

Center the required EOS sensor with safety-temperature limiter on the cabin wall above the heater, 100 mm below the protective grille. Do not use the generic ceiling-sensor location.

What controls work with Invisio Midi?

Plan a matching North American EOS Touch 3 or EmoTec D control and power box outside the hot room, plus the required sensor/limiter. The heater body is not a complete operating package.

EOS Invisio Midi FAQ

Is the protective grille optional?

No. The factory grille is a mandatory part of the installation. It bridges the cabin wall and dividing-wall/shaft edge to keep objects from falling onto the concealed heater.

How should Invisio Midi be ventilated?

Use non-closable inlet and outlet openings, with the outlet low on the diagonally opposite wall, and design for at least five air changes per hour. Minimum opening sizes are 350 × 50 mm at 6 kW, 350 × 60 mm at 9 kW, and 350 × 70 mm at 12 kW.

Can it be used below a sloped roof or outdoors?

Not as a generic design. The North American manual scope is indoor Finnish dry sauna use, protected from weather, condensation, and corrosive conditions. Alcove or sloped-roof details require EOS review of the exact assembly.

How is water applied?

Pour water only into the infusion trough. The internal water channel must slope away from the chosen left- or right-hand hose connection, and the hose needs a continuous downhill, kink-free route. Treat the trough as a hot surface.

How is the heater serviced?

The complete heater must slide out without dismantling permanent cabin equipment. Provide removable bench and dividing-wall panels, electrical and hose slack, and a clear removal route at least as large as the heater envelope.

What stones does it use?

Plan approximately 20.5 kg / 44-45 lb of loose natural sauna stones, about 100-150 mm / 2-4 in. Confirm the current EOS kit at order time because distributor stone-package copy is not fully consistent.

Best fit

  • Architectural sauna interiors that need the heat source hidden below a continuous removable bench.
  • Residential, spa, and hospitality rooms from roughly 214-634 cu ft where service access can be designed into the millwork.
  • Rooms with a flat finished ceiling at least 1900 mm high and room for the 1240 mm grille span.
  • Projects that can coordinate custom bench framing, noncombustible floor, ventilation, infusion plumbing, and the external EOS control package before construction.

Designer checks

  • Require direct overlap with a purpose-built removable bench whose underside clears the full 770 mm heater envelope and transition gap.
  • Reserve the full 1240 mm protective-grille span, including at least 40 mm beyond each heater end; constrain the long body parallel to its supporting wall.
  • Draw and schedule the 45 mm rear spacer, 105 mm dividing-wall offset, 10 mm transitions, more than 30 mm front path, and more than 60 mm lower path.
  • Place the sensor centered above the heater, 100 mm below the grille, and keep the EOS power/control equipment outside in a dry accessible location.
  • Use the kW-specific 350 × 50/60/70 mm non-closable inlet and outlet openings and verify at least five air changes per hour.
  • Hard-block 12 kW on 240V service, finished ceilings below 1900 mm, exposed use, missing benches, arbitrary rotations, and generic sloped-roof assemblies.
  • Keep a full-body removal route and cable/hose slack; do not bury the terminal panel or infusion connection behind permanent millwork.

Package notes

  • Live body pricing checked July 13, 2026: $5,641 for 6 kW and $5,860 for 9/12 kW before control, stones, site work, freight, and electrical installation.
  • Ten exact North American finish/voltage item numbers and UPCs are stored in the configurator; 12 kW remains 208V 3PH only.
  • The factory protective grille, infusion trough, reversible connection hardware, hose, and instructions are scheduled with the heater body.
  • Required quoted scope adds EOS Touch 3 or EmoTec D power/control package, sensor/limiter, current stone kit, custom removable bench/shaft, ventilation, and noncombustible floor.
